Jrobots is an On-Line, Multi-User, Real-Time, Time-Sharing game. If you want to donate CPU time to JROBOTS, read the instructions below.

Applet Instructions
• To choose the type of match click on the buttons Single, Double or Team. Click Rand for a random choice of the type of match. Click Stop to interrupt a match and see the results scrolling.
• To choose the selection mode of the opponents click on the checkboxes Rnd (for random choice) or Wght (robots with higher percentages are chosen more frequently and it is more probable that they fight against robots with a closer winning percentage. Read weightedSelection.txt for more details).
• To play the matches in sequence without interruption click on the Loop checkbox (uncheck it to exit loop mode or simply click the Stop button).
• To choose the display mode of the matches click on the checkboxes Smooth (for higher frame rates), Fast (for lower frame rates) or None (the arena is not shown).
• To switch among the different view options check the boxes Scan, Trace or Track. Scan shows radar scans, Trace shows the traces of the missiles, Track shows the paths of the robots.
• To get a compatible robots.txt file containing the latest results of the arena, check the Results checkbox. The results are updated every time the applet runs. The new tournament results are downloaded from the server every two minutes.
• To see a graph of the latest matches the robots played, check the Graphs checkbox. The graph displays only the results of the matches you played with the on-line applet. Those matches are not the ones saved on the server, so this feature is more useful when you run the applet off-line, during the test phase.
• To change the speed of the simulation click x2 or /2. x2 increases the speed and /2 decrease it.
• To select the robots you want to see in the arena use the list in the top-right corner.
Want to donate CPU time to Jrobots?
This applet shows the results of the latest challenge, so you can read the current on-line results (updated every two minutes). The matches you play using this applet are not saved on the server. The real battles run on several machines. If you have an internet connection always on and you want to contribute some precious CPU time to the current tournament, you can access the page of the CPU Time Contributors.
If you have any question about CPU time contribution, send me an email. Thank you!
