  • The results of the June 2003 JROBOTS Challenge are available at the Challanges Page

During this tournament we had a problem with some of the JROBOTS algorithms. It seems that a low number of jrobots raises an exception in the code and a lot of matches are lost. I don't think that the problem was solved, so the next challenge will start with more than five jrobots. I hope that no player will comply if I'll upload my old jrobots: I'm curious to see how they behave against the strongest jrobots that dominate the arena.

The IonStorm's long run to beat the KillerBees' record still needs further steps. The low number of matches almost broke that run, but with a few matches the order of the list changed. Now only two tournaments lack!
On the novice side, FirstRobots leaved the arena. Its author has an innovative jrobots almost ready, but he used a collaborative technique that is against the restrictive rules of JROBOTS. I hope he can find some workaround.
Platoon2 was uploaded only to fix the bug caused by the low number of jrobots.

Now you can upload your jrobots to win the July 2003 JROBOTS Challenge (July 5th-26th 2003) aka Revival!

  • APOCALYX 3D EngineGUN-TACTYX, my new game in development, improves its design. It is a CROBOTS-like game with QUAKE3-style graphics. At http://apocalyx.sf.net you can read the functions that players can use to interface their warriors to the world. You'll see a lot of similarities with the JROBOTS API. Send me any comment or suggestion to improve that game: It is still in development, so any change in its design is possible. Thank you!

  • The June 2003 JROBOTS Challenge starts now.
Remember that you can send your robots even in the course of the challenge, so you're never too late. The latest robots are stored in the file jjrobots_challengers.zip. You can download it to test off-line the behaviour of your robot against the other challengers. To read the results in real-time simply visit the Battle Applet page. Good luck!
